Properties with four or fewer residential units...

The City of Janesville provides curbside trash and recycling collection services to properties with four (4) or fewer residential units. 

Each unit in the building is assigned a minimum of 1 trash cart and 1 recycling cart, unless other arrangement have been requested by the property owner.  If fewer than 2 carts are assigned per unit to a multi-unit building, additional carts may be provided up to the maximum two carts per unit (1 trash and 1 recycling each) at no additional cost.

Properties with five or more residential units...

Unfortunately, the City of Janesville does not provide curbside collection services to properties with five (5) or more residential units.  Any service that may have been provided in the past was done in error and should not have been provided.  These properties are not subject to the sanitation collection fee and have not paid for collection service.  

Property owners will need to perform waste removal services themselves or secure private waste services.  State law still requires that recycling services are provided to tenants of these facilities by the owners of the property.
