The City of Janesville's solid waste management program is managed by the Operations Division. The primary objective is to provide safe, dependable, efficient, and cost-effective services to City residents and out-of-town customers. 

The Solid Waste Management program includes:

• Bagged Yard Waste Collection (Spring & Fall)
• Compost Site & Clean Fill Facility
• Fall Loose Leaf Collection
• Recycling
• Sanitary Landfill
• Trash & Recycling Collection

Solid Waste Collection Services 

The Operations Division provides solid waste collection services weekly to residential properties with up to four units.  Collection of up to 96 gallons of waste is also available to businesses. Sanitary Landfill & Compost/Clean Fill Facility

The City owns and operates the City of Janesville Sanitary Landfill and the Compost & Clean Fill Facility.  Waste disposal services are available for all residential, commercial, demolition, and industrial waste generators. 

Other Services

The City also performs bi-annual bagged yard waste pick up, annual loose leaf collection, and curbside Christmas tree collection services.
