The Janesville Fire Department Explorer Post is an organization of young adults between the ages of fourteen and twenty-one. The main objective of Post 555 is to introduce its members to the fire service, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), rescue, and all other related areas of fire suppression. Explorers will learn about these areas through lectures and practical application. Other activities may include field trips, fund raisers, community service, and ride-along opportunities.
How to get involved!
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Janesville Fire Department Explorer Post must be willing to attend monthly meetings and training sessions. Meetings and training opportunities are scheduled multiple times a month to experience different aspects of emergency service professions.
The Explorer Post registration takes place in August and the training runs through the school year. Interested students and a parent or guardian are required to attend an information meeting.
