As a result of receiving certain state and federal grants, the City must undergo an annual Compliance Audit conducted by an independent auditing firm. Such grants include the Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, Community Development Block Grants, Hazard Mitigation Grants, Federal Transit Grants, and State Transit Operation Aids. In addition, there are several smaller grants that are included such as the Police Department Equipment Grant. The audit, performed by Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, indicates that the City of Janesville complied with the grant requirements, and that there were no questioned costs.
