The City of Janesville, in partnership with the consulting firm GRAEF, has initiated the process to comprehensively rewrite its Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance requirements. As part of this process, the City is excited to host an initial open house to engage the community, gather input, and ensure transparency in the project’s development.
Open House Details:
Date: Thursday, November 14, 2024
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main Street
This open house marks the beginning of a community-driven process to update outdated zoning and subdivision codes and regulations, positioning Janesville for continued growth and future success. The current zoning code has been in place for more than 40 years. The modernized ordinances will provide enhanced opportunities for development, streamline the regulatory process, and better serve the evolving needs of the community.
As public participation is key to this effort, the City encourages residents, business owners, and other stakeholders to attend the open house to share their feedback. The City is committed to ensuring that the updated zoning and subdivision codes reflect the goals and visions of the entire community.
A project website has been developed, serving as the central hub for updates, upcoming public meeting announcements, and opportunities to get involved. Residents are encouraged to visit the site to learn more about the code rewrite, view a brief informational video, and receive the latest information.
