The Janesville Area MPO Policy Board adopted the Janesville Area 2020-2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), as required by federal legislation, on May 10, 2021. The LRTP serves as the officially adopted transportation plan for the MPO, and directs decision-making and investments for transportation in the Janesville Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA) for the next thirty years.

The LRTP serves as the action plan for the construction of efficient highway, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and development of effective transit service throughout the MPA.
