Overview
The City of Janesville has approximately 330 miles of paved and 2 miles of gravel public streets and alleys. The Operations Division is responsible for a major portion of maintenance and repair of bituminous (asphalt) and concrete streets, except for major street reconstruction activities. Cleanup of debris and street sweeping activities are also completed by Operations' crews.
In addition to the maintenance and cleaning of the City's roadways, the Operations Division is responsible for maintaining the public right-of-ways adjacent to City streets, including street signage, mowing and weed cutting, and cleanup of fallen trees or limbs due to storm damage.
