Fisher Creek Trail Phase 1, from W. Court Street to Dartmouth Drive (segment in pink)
Project Description
The City of Janesville and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation propose constructing a 10-foot-wide paved off-road trail with an approximate project length of 0.80 miles. The alignment will start at the existing path north of W. Court Street along Austin Road and travel north to Dartmouth Drive. This project will also include a trail connection to Greenway Point Drive. The entire project will be located within the City’s greenbelt and right of way.
The City was successful in obtaining WisDOT Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding.
- Safety improvements will be made at the Mineral Point Avenue trail crossing.
- Construct a pedestrian refuge safety island
- Provide a streetlight near the crossing
- Install fluorescent bike/pedestrian signs
- Add pavement markings
