In-City Fares

• Cash Fare using MyJTS or cash upon boarding: $1.50 - All passengers age 5 through age 64

  • NOTE: A maximum of 2 children age four and younger may ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying passenger. Any additional children age four and younger must pay the regular fare.

  • Organized groups of children, including children age four and younger, such as daycare or pre-Kindergarten classes, must pay the regular fare.

• Half Fare for Seniors or Persons with Disabilities using MyJTS or cash upon boarding: $0.75 **  

• 30-day Pass available using MyJTS: Unlimited rides for 30 days for $52

• 10-Rides at a discount using MyJTS: Ten rides for $12

• Half Fare 10 Rides for Seniors or Persons with Disabilities using MyJTS: Ten rides for $7.50**

• Day Pass using MyJTS or cash upon boarding: Unlimited rides on in-city routes any service day for $4

• Half Fare Day Pass for Seniors or Persons with Disabilities using MyJTS or with cash upon boarding: Unlimited rides on in-city routes any service day for $2**.

Beloit Janesville Express Fares

• Beloit-Janesville Cash Fare: $3.50 from one city to the other (one-way)

•  Half Fare for Seniors or Persons with Disabilities-Beloit-Janesville Cash Fare: $1.75**  (one-way)

•  Janesville or Beloit to Blackhawk Technical College (BTC) Cash Fare: $2.25 (one-way)

•  Half Fare for Seniors or Persons with Disabilities-Janesville or Beloit to BTC Cash Fare: $1.10** (one-way) 

• Beloit-Janesville Express 10 Ride Punch Pass (Janesville to Beloit): $30

Student Fares

Effective with the 2023-2024 academic year, the School District of Janesville is paying for student JTS rides on behalf of all middle and high school students. Students may ride fare-free when showing their School District of Janesville ID card or ID app to the bus driver. Students must have their ID to receive a fare-free ride. Students may use any in-city bus route during any operating hours. Rides are NOT limited to before and after school. This means students may attend school, pursue employment, volunteer opportunities or after school activities with the assurance they can get to and from their destination fare-free!

Use of Transfers

One free transfer may be issued when paying your fare. Please ask for transfers when boarding. These conditions apply to transfers:

• Tell the driver you need to transfer when boarding
• Valid only at time shown
• Valid only on day of issue
• Cannot be used to return on same route
• Must be placed in the trash upon boarding

JTS will make every reasonable effort to ensure you make your transfer.  However, JTS cannot guarantee transfer connections due to variations in traffic and weather conditions.

Reminder Regarding Fare Materials - Outdated fare media (for example, ten-ride punch passes) will be exchanged for updated fare media at the JTS Office for one month following a fare increase, provided the paper fare media is unused (no punches). To receive an exchange, the difference in cost must be paid at the time of exchange. Used fare media (such as a partially punched pass) must be used within one month following a fare increase.
