Travel Training Available
Interested in riding Janesville Transit System but unsure how to go about it? Call the Rock County Mobility Manager (608-757-5408) and schedule your free travel training class today! Start your journey to travel independence by learning all you need to know to safely and confidently traverse the public transit landscape.
Half Fare Available
Individuals with disabilities are entitled to half fare on fixed-route bus services. Learn about transit fares and our transit identification cards. Please remember you must be able to present proof of eligibility every time you ride.
Communication Assistance for Meetings
The following communication assistance is available for all public meetings conducted by JTS:

Alternate Formats Available
JTS desires to communicate with you effectively! Alternate formats for complaint procedures and other materials, including Spanish translation, and audio files, are available. Please contact David R. Kipp, at 608/755-3150 to request an alternate format.
Paratransit Services
If, as a result of a physical or mental impairment, you are unable to board, ride, or navigate an accessible fixed-route bus without the assistance of another individual, you may be eligible for our complementary paratransit service. You must complete an application to determine if you are eligible for complementary paratransit service for some or all of your trips. Accessible Features
Accessible Buses
All JTS buses are accessible for mobility devices, such as wheelchairs, electric scooters, walkers, and individuals using crutches. JTS staff are trained to secure mobility devices.
Personal Attendants and Service Animals
Personal attendants, aides, and trainers accompanying passengers who have a disability are permitted to ride for free. Service animals may accompany disabled passengers as well.
Respirators and Portable Oxygen
Passengers may board with a respirator, concentrator, or portable oxygen supply.
Stop Announcements
To assist all customers, especially those with visual and auditory impairments, 17 of our 19 buses are equipped with automatic vehicle locations equipment to automatically announce timing points; major intersections; points of interest; and transfer points along bus routes. If a passenger with a disability has a specific stop request that is not set for the automatic announcement, please inform the driver, and he or she will announce the requested stop or location.
Accessible Information
The system map and route guide may be viewed. A large print system map and route guide is available. Materials are available on the buses and throughout the community. For special requests call JTS at 608-755-3150.
JTS Accessible Facilities
JTS facilities, such as the downtown Transfer Center (123 S. River Street) and the Transit Services Center (101 Black Bridge Road), are accessible to individuals with disabilities and include ramps, accessible doorways, and restrooms.
Reasonable Modification
JTS makes every effort to ensure individuals with disabilities have access to, and benefits from, our services. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and FTA requirements, we invite requests for reasonable modifications to customers with disabilities. Reasonable modifications include changes, exceptions or adjustments to our rules, policies, practices, and procedures to provide everyone with the opportunity to use JTS services.
