The City of Janesville Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. The Janesville Fire Department is looking for energetic personnel that are dedicated to providing public service in areas of fire protection, emergency medical service, fire prevention, and public education. Additional opportunities for specialization include Hazardous Materials response, Rescue Dive team, Swiftwater Rescue, Urban Search and Rescue, and Tactical EMS.
Salary: With an excellent benefits package, including 1% deferred comp match

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years or older at time of application.
- Possess a valid state-issued Driver’s License.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Wisconsin Firefighter I & II certification (or obtain Wisconsin certification through reciprocity).
- Possess a valid Wisconsin EMT license (or obtain Wisconsin licensure through reciprocity).
- Possess a current CPAT Assessment Certificate.
- Be able to satisfactorily complete a water survival test.

Applicant Review Process:
- Submit Application: To be considered for Spring 2023, applications must be received online by March 6, 2023, 11:59 p.m. (CST). Faxed, e-mailed, mailed or dropped off applications will NOT be accepted.
- Oral Interviews: Following completion of all application materials and review of minimum qualifications, successful applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in Oral Interviews.
- Eligibility Notification: Candidates will be notified of their progression in the application review process in March 2023. The selection process will include background investigation, drug/alcohol/nicotine screen, and medical exam.
