In observance of Thanksgiving, most City facilities, including City Hall, Police and Fire Administration, Water and Wastewater Utility Offices, Oak Hill Cemetery Office, City Services Center, and the Senior Center will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. 

The Hedberg Public Library, Ice Arena, Sanitary Landfill, Demolition Landfill and the Compost Site will be closed Thursday, November 26, with regular hours resuming November 27.

Holiday Trash & Recycling Collection

Curbside trash and recycling collection will not take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26. Collection of trash and recyclables for all residents will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the holiday week. Please remember collection carts must be placed for collection no later than 7:00 AM on the day of collection.   The collection schedule is as follows:

 The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, November 30. Curbside collection of bagged yard waste will also take place the week of November 30. Bagged yard waste and bundled brush should be placed at the curb by 7:00 AM on the customer’s regular collection day. JTS Holiday Hours

Janesville Transit System (JTS) will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, November 26.  Regular service, including the Beloit-Janesville Express, will resume at 6:15AM on Friday, November 27.  With the Janesville Public Schools closed, extra service routes will not operate November 25 – November 27, and will resume on Monday, November 30.

Indoor Lap Swimming Holiday Hours

There will be no lap swimming at Marshall Middle School on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. Indoor lap swimming will resume Monday, November 30.
