The City of Janesville will provide guided tours of the new central fire station to interested parties from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10. This is an opportunity to walk through the construction site to see the new station’s amenities and to learn about Janesville Fire Department operations. Janesville Deputy Fire Chief Jim Ponkauskas and Public Works Project Manager Fred Hookham will guide the tours.
Tours will begin every 15 minutes starting at 8 a.m. Individuals who wish to participate must pre-register by Wednesday, October 7 at 4:30 p.m. by contacting Maggie Hrdlicka at 755-3103 or hrdlickam@ci.janesville.wi.us. Tour groups will meet in the bay of the old central fire station located at 303 Milton Avenue at least five minutes before their scheduled tour. Participants must wear close-toed, flat shoes. Long pants are recommended. Please be advised that street parking in the neighborhood is limited.
