The Senior Center October trip will be to the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate on Wednesday, October 14. Participants will leave from the Ice Arena at 8:30am and return at 5pm, subjective to traffic. The cost is $72 for members and $82 for non-members.
Participants will arrive at the Jacob Henry Mansion where they will be treated to a personalized mystery filled with intrigue, suspense and fun. The best is yet to come when the killer is actually one of the participants! Everyone becomes involved to solve the “MYSTERY IN THE MANSION.” After lunch, there will be a brief history of the mansion and church as well as an opportunity to ask questions. A self-guided tour of the Mansion and Old Central Church Chapel Hall will follow.
The beautifully decorated exterior and interior is a classic example of grand churches of the early 1900’s. The chapel is completely remodeled – from the hand carved and stained pillars to the massive domed ceiling to working pipe organ. Chapel Hall is located on The Jacob Henry Mansion Estate.
Lunch includes fresh garden salad, assorted rolls with whipped garlic and chive butter, stuffed chicken breast (homemade apple celery stuffing), mashed potatoes/gravy and green beans, chocolate mousse for dessert, as well as coffee or tea.
All reservations and payments are due by Thursday, September 17. For questions or to register, call Janet McLean at 755-3040.
Activities at the Senior Center are open to individuals ages 50 and older.
