The Janesville Recreation Division and the Blackhawk Musky Club co-sponsor this fun family event! There will be a kid’s casting contest, biggest fish contest, and plenty of other surprises. Tons of prizes will be awarded! Concessions will be available for purchase. Please bring your own rod, reel, and bait. Pre-register at the Recreation Division office, Gander Mountain, Pizza Hut (Court St. or Milton Ave.), it’s a Keeper Bait & Tackle, or Blain’s Farm and Fleet from May 1 – 31. This is a special day to promote youth fishing so no license is required. It’s a Keeper Bait & Tackle will have extra bait for anyone without. Don’t forget your camera! The derby will be held at Traxler Park Lagoon with fishing taking place from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and prizes announced from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. The cost of this event is free.
