Each year, the City Manager proposes an annual budget for the City of Janesville. The City Council then holds budget study sessions and public hearings to review the budget and solicit public comment before final Council approval. On October 23, 2014, the 2015 - 2019 Strategic Plan & Capital Improvement Plan Review was held at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The remaining study sessions and public hearings for the 2015 budget will be held on the following dates:
• November 10, 2014, 6:00 p.m. – First Public Hearing
• November 24, 2014 - Second Public Hearing and Council Adoption
Each session will take place in the City Hall Council Chambers (18 N. Jackson Street, fourth floor). The public is encouraged to attend the sessions, view them live on JATV Charter Channel 994, or view them live or on demand on the City’s website: http://www.janesvillewi.gov/index.aspx?page=361.
Additionally, the proposed budget is available on the City’s website (http://www.janesvillewi.gov/2015budget) for members of the public to reference and review. Budgets from past years are also available on the website under the Accounting Division.
