Over 50 officers from the Janesville Police Department and other Rock County agencies will attend Fair & Impartial Policing training on October 22nd, 2014 at Rotary Gardens. Lieutenant Terry Sheridan and Sgt. Mark Ratzlaff from the Janesville Police Department will conduct the training. The Fair & Impartial Policing perspective is based on the science of human bias, including research on “implicit bias”. The application of the social psychological research to policing leads to the conclusion that even the best law enforcement officers may manifest bias because they are human. There will be two more training session to allow more officers to attend the training sponsored by the United States Department of Justice. For more information contact Sgt. Brian Donohoue at 755-3133.
