On Wednesday, September 24, the Office of Privacy Protection and Wisconsin Department of Agriculture along with the Janesville Police Department will give Fraud Prevention tips for senior citizens. The presentation will be at the Janesville Senior Center, 69 S. Water Street, Janesville from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and is free. Identity theft continues to be the fastest growing crime in the country. More than 11 million people the U.S. become victims each year. This presentation will cover senior safety, telemarketing fraud, medical fraud, identity theft and foreign lottery/internet fraud. Our primary focus is educating consumers on how to monitor and safeguard their personal information by keeping it safe from identity thieves.
