On Saturday, September 20 from 9AM - 3PM, Janesville Parks Division and volunteers of Paw Print Park will sponsor Pooch Fest. This event will take place at the Palmer Park wading pool and west pavilion. During this event, dogs will enjoy swimming in the Palmer Wading Pool and their owners will have the opportunity to browse and chat with dog and pet care organizations and businesses.
Pooch Fest includes time for dogs to swim inside the fenced wading pool for off-leash play time. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside the fence. Owners will need to stay near their dog while it is inside the fence. Additionally, dog-related businesses and non-profit organizations will have booths on display to share information and provide educational resources to area pet owners. The cost to enter the fenced area is $5 per dog and visiting the booths is free. Dogs must be a minimum of six months old; must be up to date on their vaccines; and must be licensed to participate in this event. Dogs in heat or with communicable diseases are not allowed.
Proceeds from this event will be used to provide funds for Paw Print Park. Businesses and organizations that provide products or services for dogs who are interested in renting a booth for $25, may contact the Parks Division for more information. Non-profit dog-related groups may request a booth free of charge by completing a vendor application at the Parks Division office. For questions, please call the Parks Division at 755-3030.
