Gather your family to camp underneath the stars at Rockport Park! This event is held in conjunction with the Great American Backyard Camp Out, which is a national event that encourages families to camp out together. This family friendly event includes a variety of activities, such as, a family nature walk, tent decorating contest (bring your own supplies), swimming at Rockport Pool, kid’s activities, movie, relay races, volleyball hot dog cookout, bonfire, donut breakfast, etc. Campers must bring their own tent and camping supplies. The Camp Out will be held rain or shine. No Alcohol permitted in the park by ordinance!
The pre-registration deadline for the camp out is Wednesday, June 25. Family check-in is noon-5PM on June 28 with scheduled activities in the afternoon. Families must check-out by 10AM on Sunday, June 29. The cost is $20 per site (one tent) and $10 for any additional tents (limit of 2 tents per site max). There can only be a minimum of 10 families and a max of 40 families for the event. For more information or to register, please contact the Recreation Division at 755-3030.
