On Monday, December 10, the Janesville City Council adopted the City’s 2019 State Legislative Agenda. That agenda can be viewed by click here: Legislative Agenda and focuses on six legislative issues that affect the City’s ability to provide effective, responsive, reliable, and efficient municipal services in accordance with our mission. The issues include:
- Restoration of Fiscal Local Control
- Fair and Equitable Distribution of State Shared Revenue
- Dark Store Property Assessment Appeals
- Aid Payments for Personal Property
- Adequate Funding for Local Roads & Public Transit
- Regulation of Cell Phone Towers
You are invited to attend a roundtable discussion on these six issues on Friday, January 18, 2 – 4 p.m. in Room 416 of City Hall (18 North Jackson Street). The purpose of the roundtable discussion is to allow City staff to present why these issues are important and allow state legislators, City Councilmembers and staff, and other community leaders to discuss the issues with the intention of working towards legislative change.
