Pharmaceutical Collection Planned for April 28
The City of Janesville in partnership with the Rock County Health Department will provide an opportunity for all Rock County residents to safely dispose of pharmaceuticals, prescription and non-prescription medications that are either expired or no longer being used in their households. This free event will be held on Saturday, April 28 from 10AM-2PM at the following locations:
- Janesville Water Utility (123 E. Delavan Drive, Janesville)
- Edgerton Fire Department (621 N. Main Street, Edgerton)
The collection effort coincides with the National Pharmaceutical Take-Back Initiative sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. Radioactive materials, chemotherapy medications and sharps/needles are not accepted. Residents are also reminded to bring their household mercury thermometers to exchange for a free digital thermometer at the Janesville location.
