Janesville Parks & Recreation Divisions and the Blackhawk Musky Club will co-sponsor the Take A Kid Fishing Derby on June 7 at the Traxler Park Lagoon. Fishing will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., with prizes and winners announced at 12:30 p.m. There will be a kid’s casting contest, biggest fish contest, and plenty of other surprises! Tons of prizes will be awarded! This event is free of charge. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please bring your own rod, reel, and bait.
Pre-register at the Janesville Parks & Recreation office, Gander Mountain, Shopko, Kmart, Pizza Hut (Court Street & Milton Avenue), It’s a Keeper Bait & Tackle or Blain’s Farm & Fleet from May 1 - 30. This is a special day to promote youth fishing, so no license is required. A Keeper Bait & Tackle will have extra bait for anyone without.
