Janesville was named a Bird City Community through the Bird City Wisconsin organization this past November. Janesville is a healthy and thriving community for birds.
On Saturday, May 10, there will be a Bird City Celebration at Riverside Park from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The event will include tips and tricks on attracting, identifying and photographing birds, games and quizzes, and bird walks. Also included offered through this event is a bird photograph contest. The Bird City Janesville Photo Contest is open to all Wisconsin residents and entries must be photos taken of birds in Wisconsin. The contest is also limited to non-professional photographers, or someone who receives less than half of their income from photography related services. All entries must be postmarked by April 30.
