The Janesville Police Department and the Office of Privacy Protection, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will be hosting a senior citizens fraud prevention presentation on December 11 at the Janesville Senior Center from 8-9AM.
Identity theft continues to be the fastest growing crime in the country. More than 11 million people in the U.S. become victims each year. This presentation will include information regarding senior safety, telemarketing fraud, medical fraud, identity theft and foreign lottery/internet fraud. The primary focus of the presentation is to educate consumers on how to monitor and safeguard their personal information by keeping it safe from identity thieves. Learn what you can do to protect yourself from those who want to prey on you during this special free presentation. Refreshments will be served and there is no cost to attend.
