The City of Janesville will be hosting a Legislative Roundtable with our state legislators on Friday, March 12 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss the City’s 2021 Federal & State Legislative Agenda. Passed by the Janesville City Council this past December, the agenda focuses on legislative issues that affect the City’s ability to provide effective, efficient, responsive, and reliable municipal services in accordance with our mission. This year’s State legislative issues include:

• The Restoration of Local Fiscal Control
• The Fair and Equitable Distribution of State Shared Revenue
• Fully Funding the Payment for Municipal Services Program
• Providing Incentives for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

The purpose of the upcoming roundtable discussion is to allow City staff to present why these issues matter and provide a forum for state legislators, City Councilmembers and staff, and other community leaders to discuss the issues and work towards legislative change.
